These months have been hard in a quarantine. But your love and support makes my day brigeter and happier โ˜€๐Ÿ˜โค

Now let’s get into the book review where I discuss about the pros and cons of the book!

Book Review in a few words —

Minnie Cooper is a 30year old and all her life she has been pitty-ed by her mother for having a bad luck because someone stole her name…. Someone who took her luck. She faces business losses and relationship problems. It’s a perfect YA read!

Plot —-

So there is this girl named Minnie who is 30year old. And guess what? Her bday is on the New year’s Eve! Now tell me how many of you have a jinx on your bday?! How terrible would be that? Well Minnie has it. She is scared of her bday and the New Year’s eve coz that’s the day when nothing can get more worse! ๐Ÿ˜– She runs into things, looses her precious coats, gets vomitted on and what not!

And Minnie’s mom considers thatvit happens because she was born with a wrong name! The name which was supposed to ber hers was stolen! As she grows her luck becomes worse and worser than ever! She faces a huge loss on her pie ๐Ÿฐ business, looses her best friend, breaks up with her boyfriend AND meets the person who stole her name! Can she forgive the man? What will she do?

What I liked about the Book —

Its ony favourite list now , so it will be kinda hard to jott down only SOME points! I can write a complete essay on why I love that book ๐Ÿ˜†. But here are a few reasons why… (Do I sound like 13reasons why?๐Ÿ˜‚) —–

1. This is a book which you read and feel that the book has been written AFTER the MOVIE is released. Like really. Why? Because the author, Sophie Cousens, has so perfectly described each and every detail of each person’s life that you just can’t get that book down and it feels like you are watching a movie , having a peep into everyone’s life!

2. Did you like “DaVinci Code” By Dan Brown? You did? Then what are you waiting for?! Go and buy this book NOW! This book makes you travel back in time. Like, now you are in 2020….and then bbom! Welcome to 1993. Then again-2015. By this way, the author by this way has given a clear view of what the life if each character was and how they met.

3. The story has been described in such a way that you can’t put it down. I love the way the characters have been linked. You won’t even realise it’s just a story unless you complete it. It like, you are that invisible creature having a peep into everyone’s life!

But it was the opposite with this book. My mouth was hanging open all the time ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ฎ

What I didn’t like about the book —

This will be hard….. I have brain-stormed about this for over an hour and I still don’t find anything that I didn’t like about the book. Every page, every chapter, every character has some uniqueness which just binds you into the story!

Final Thoughts —

I personally LOVED the book! It’s really rare for a person like me who judges a book a thousand times before writing a review, but I must admit that it’s just AWESOME! ๐Ÿฅณ You HAVE to read it man! I am eagerly waiting when it will release so I can buy it’s physical copy!

That’s it. It was my book review of “This Time Next Year” by Sophie Cousens. I had a great time reading this โค I hope you do too! Anyways, I hope you and your family are safe and in a GREAT SPIRIT! Enjoy your quarantine with your family and do let me know your thoughts about this review.๐Ÿ˜ Until then.. Bubye ๐Ÿค—

“My Life as Kelsey” Book Review

Life during lockdown is hard for many. But let’s admit this. We, the bookworms, now specially got MUCH time to reread our favorite books and even read new books. Not to forget, EBOOKS. Moving to our topic, I recently read this book named – “My life as Kelsey” by Victoria Anders. And here are, my thoughts about it๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰ ———

“Live life with no Regrets…..”

This is what Kelsey’s mantra is.

Before getting into the detailed review of the book, here’s a short interpretation of it – It’s a fancy YA(Young Adult) book and describes the stages and situations a teenager has to go through when they have a family crisis.

Plot

Kelsey Payne works as an instructor at the Roller Coaster rides. Her Monotonous instructions are just like her monotonous life. She lives in the Forest Hills which is one of the poorest locality in their city. It’s a normal day in Kelsey’s life as she works and helps people in the Roller coaster rides. But she doesn’t know that day can change her life. It all starts when a group of boys decide to have a ride. One of them has sunglasses on. When Kelsey asks the young man to remove them as they are quite not allowed, she falls for his blue eyes. But she knows her limits. According to her mom, boys are users and Kelsey is not allowed to date. Kelsey believes it’s because she doesn’t know who her father is. But is it a real story or is her mom lying? Will she ever be friends with the sunglass guy?

May be this what the Roller coaster ride looks like where Kelsey works…

Read it and do let me know your thoughts.

What I liked about the book –

1. The author’s way if writing the book is very beautiful. Why? Because believe me I finished the book in 2 sittings in 2 days. It just keeps you binded

2. You never know what’s going to happen the next moment ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‚ Like, the story has a flow…. And then suddenly something happens and you feel like screaming. To be honest, I enjoy reading these kind of books ๐Ÿ˜†

3. She explains the hardships of a teenager who is squeezed in a family crisis. Let’s be honest now, the movies we see in Netflix or wherever, describe only the good-fancy part. But where does the other FAMILY part go? Cleared, 70% teenagers go through family problems everyday . So I really like how she wrote about Real Problens and not just everything people write to gain popularity.

4. Have you watched any series on Netflix? Or Gossip Girl? Or Pretty Little Liars? Like these are the teen series and what do they represent? Fancy Life. Spend dollars every day. Do party. But does this all happen in real life? No offence to the above-mentioned-series-lovers and to the ones who really party n enjoy life… But I believe we mostly stay at home. And this girl is poor and this describes the other part of the story which we mostly miss….

What I didn’t like about the Book –

1. I felt that the story at some point, went Too fast and the part where not needed, went Too slow. That actually was a problem.

2. I completely respect the author’s views, but at some parts the short situations could be improved snd some unnecessary sub-stories could have been removed.

My Final Thoughts about the book—-

The book overall was a great experience itself. I wish I could read this book with the same enthusiasm and with the same excitement I had when I read it for the 1st time. Really, it’s like a good book to take your mind off things and have a good time during lockdown!

Disclaimer- I received a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review
